Electrical Engineer - Fully Remote

Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a -based company to hire a Lead Electrical Engineer, knowledgeable in HVDC designs, for our Power Division. The candidate will work remotely with a group located across the United States and Canada. Our client offers the opportunity to have access to a local office if required. Responsibilities

• Assigns and outlines work, advises on technical problems, and reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
• Prepares proposal writeups and estimates based on client Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Reviews and prepares technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with technical requirements.
• Analyses problems, organize investigations and determines specific design criteria.
• Establishes and maintains client contacts to seek or provide technical information related to the immediate project.
• Is required to know related disciplines/fields of engineering.
• Requires effective working relationships with colleagues, officials, and associates to discuss design problems, and explain design features and specifications, and other project control criteria.
• Develops, approves, and coordinates work schedules to ensure that objectives of cost, quality, and time are met.
• Makes commitments on acceptance of projects, completion dates, resources, and staff required to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing technical specifications of the electrical equipment, evaluating proposals, and will be able to review vendor drawings.
• The ideal candidate will have experience conducting projects using 3D design software.
• Over 10 years of working experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Possessing experience in preparing layouts, elevation views, installation details, grounding, lighting, cable trays, and conduit layout drawings is required.
• Possess exceptional communication skills (client relations, team project communications, and proposal and report development).
• Completed at least one detailed design project for an HVDC substation.
• Possess a PE license in the United States with the possibility of obtaining a license in other states.
• University degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Possess experience in the study, technical knowledge, and design expertise of electrical distribution systems and industrial controls for a broad range of industries, with a heavy emphasis on utility substations.
