Drafting Technician Jobs

Position Overview

Circelli Steel Ltd. is a metal fabricator and has been proudly serving our community for over 30 years. We have a new opportunity for a Drafter/Steel Detailer to join our drafting team on a full-time basis. As a Drafter/ Steel Detailer, you will be working on 2D/3D drafting on a per-project basis to complete approval drawings & detailed shop drawings.

Key Responsibilities

•Converting design intent to specified product detail with thorough consideration of OBS & industry standards.

•Drafting on a regular basis employing the use of AutoCAD or other steel associated programs ie. Tekla, SDS2.

•Understanding the scope of work, constructability, and collaborating with shop for accurate fabrication.

•Responsible for all site measurements as required or coordination.

•Ensuring that all detailing/checking duties and functions are carried out in a timely manner.

•Regconizing any changes and communicating this to project managers and estimators.

Required Knowledge & Experience

•Post-secondary education in Architectural or Engineering program.

•Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural drawings and specifications.

•Minimum of 1 year of drafting experience with strong drafting skills in AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling in Tekla/SDS2.

•Good understanding of OBC Part 3.

•Must be analytical, organized, detail orientated and outstanding ability to multi task.

•Experience with structural steel & misc. metal would be an asset.

•Willingness to learn and the desire to excel and thrive in a fast-paced workplace.
