Job Overview
The Director of Program Management is responsible for all project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. The successful candidate will provide overall strategic governance by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. The project management group is focused on project planning, execution and delivering accurate and consistent updates to all stakeholders including scheduling, financial and overall status.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The Director of Program Management is responsible for all project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. The successful candidate will provide overall strategic governance by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. The project management group is focused on project planning, execution and delivering accurate and consistent updates to all stakeholders including scheduling, financial and overall status.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update project deliverable procedures and templates in alignment with Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines, quality standards and company requirements.
- Manage, assign, coordinate, advise and review the work of project managers, coordinators and other contributing team members.
- Responds and remediates potential risks, escalates issues and concerns or conflicts. Coordinates solutions in a timely manner and presents to customers and leadership.
- Develop and improve project management processes, standards, tools, and deliverables that will enable the project management team to deliver successful services projects while ensuring scalability and alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure standards on project documentation across the PMO team and projects Plan, monitor and evaluates project financials and profitability including resource scheduling, revenue forecasting per project, billing reconciliations, expense reports and time approval for project work, etc.
- Draft, review and approve statements of work and other professional services engagement documents.
- Build a project management team that is diverse, high-performing, and receptive to organizational changes, goals, and priorities.
- Create positive and productive workplace environment by providing and contributing to overall team morale through motivation and team building.
- Align and manage department resources to support company objectives.
- Monitor and optimize project budget, backlogs and other departmental KPIs.
- Oversee project teams for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget.
- When scope change is required, support and coordinate the project management team with particular focus on deliverables, financial, and scheduling impacts ensuring clear concise customer communication.
- Monitors and reviews project metrics seeking implementation efficiencies to meet or exceed the financial expectations established at project initiation.
- Develop, edit, and review a variety of communications, presentations, process flows, reports, and other project materials.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Set annual performance targets for direct reports and conduct performance reviews.
- Drive execution and demonstrate end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-group and cross-discipline projects to successful completion.
- Provide the project managers and cross functional team members guidance, leadership and mentorship to continue to grow and develop project management talent.
- Collaborates with sales teams in pre-sales activities such as project sizing and cost estimates and contract reviews.
- Plan and manage multiple internal projects along with client projects at any given time.
- Coordinate with the cross-functional project team members to ensure that resources are anticipated, planned/budgeted, and allocated to meet the demands of the project plan.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business, finance, engineering
- Experience in the food, agricultural or pharmaceutical industries is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Has demonstrated success in a leadership role with 5+ years of experience with direct reports.
- High professional standards and strong customer experience mentality with an energetic, positive attitude to build partnerships and relationships.
- Exemplary communication, interpersonal and group facilitation skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to collaborate and form productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience using change management strategies to implement and communicate project scope or process flow changes, ensuring all stakeholders are updated and aligned on deliverables.
- Excellent priority setting skills with the flexibility to respond to shifting business priorities.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is required.
- Strong influencer with the ability to communicate with and influence executive leadership.
- 10+ years of project management experience leading large complex projects.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing procedures, methods, materials, and management principles.
- Proven ability to work within a matrix management structure, while also successfully engaging a wide range of stakeholders in support of organizational objectives
- Clean drivers’ abstract and a Class G drivers’ license with reliable means of transportation.
