The Ideal Candidate
Our team is looking for an experiencedDevOps Engineer to join our team based in our office in downtown Vancouver. Please reach out to us if this sounds like you:
You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
You have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar position.
You can work on-site.
You are ready to work in a multicultural environment.
You are ready to engage with teammates from different time zones.
You have experience working in an Agile environment and understand the pressures and nuances that arise within such an environment.
You have the necessary eligibility status that allows you to work in Canada.
Financial domain expertise – not necessary, but preferred.
Key Objectives
Working closely with the technical lead to identify and apply DevOps practices in the company.
Establishing configuration management, automating our infrastructure, implementing continuous integration, and training the team in DevOps best practices to achieve a continuously deployable system.
Building scalable, efficient cloud infrastructure.
Implementing monitoring for automated system health checks.
Building CI pipeline.
Training, and guiding the team in DevOps practices.
Requirements
Configuration Management experience such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
Managing production infrastructure with Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
Strong Linux and Windows system administration background.
Ability to present and communicate the architecture in a visual form.
Strong knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Thorough understanding of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP.
Thorough understanding of HTTP and HTTPS, as well as their underlying implementations.
Knowledge and understanding of Agile principles.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to translate complex ideas into simple solutions on paper.
Responsibilities
Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
CD Management.
Performance assessment, monitoring, and alerting.
Build and maintain highly available systems.
Infrastructure Management.
Lead and guide the team in terms of implementing DevOps technologies.
