Database Modeler (Senior) Jobs

Public Services and Procurement Canada requires a Contractor to provide the services of one (1) Senior Database Modeler for Innovation, Science And Economic Development Canada (ISED), for an ongoing 3-year contract.

General tasks:

ISED requires the services of an Intermediate Database Modeller / Information Management Modeller to work with ISED delivery teams and assist them with executing and delivering digital solutions hosted in the protected B cloud environment, as identified in each Task Authorization (TA).

The scope of work involves data integration, transformation, analysis and modelling aspects of the Spectrum Managementrelated datasets in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and the Microsoft Power BI platform. Tasks for the intermediate Database Modeller may include but not limited to the following:

·Analyze and integrate existing Spectrum Management related databases using SQL queries

·Analyse the integration of various data sources ( (e.g., geographical maps, cellular network data, radiocommunication sensor data) and assess inconsistency.

·Design, develop, document and maintain Data Models based on best practices and 3rd party toolkit

·Design and implement data Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) softwaresolutions in the AWS cloud

·Implement data analytics solutions using 3^rd party platform (e.g. QuickSight, Power BI) or custom programming language (e.g., Python), using Machine Learning (ML) or GIS-based data overlay technologies.

·Contribute to the testing of the system and assess data quality.

·Estimate work complexity and contribute to project planning.

·Interact effectively with the team both verbally and in writing in developing the work products and ideas and concepts.

·Follow the project plans/tasks assigned to them and their teams.

·Address any and all issues promptly with the Technical Authority.

·Demonstrate their experience and expertise through valuable contributions to the ideas, content and/or solutions that are assigned to themor their team.

Requirements:

• The candidate must provide examples of work experience as an IM/IT DATA MODELLER using Machine Learning (ML) for data analytics.
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience as an IM/IT DATA MODELLER performing Design, develop, document and maintain Data Models based on best practices and 3rd party toolkits.
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience as an IM/IT DATA MODELLER performing the Design and implementing data Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) software using tools or generic programming languages (e.g. Python).
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience as an IM/IT DATA MODELLER performing integration of various data sources and assess inconsistency across datasets.
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience as an IM/IT DATA MODELLER performing developing data analysis and data analytics dashboards using 3rd party platforms (e.g. AWS QuickSight, Microsoft Power BI).
• The candidate must provide examples of projects for which they worked as DATA MODELLER in an IM/IT software development environment.
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience with at least one of the following Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud toolkits: S3, Lambda, RDS, Glue/Brew, SageMaker/Data Wrangler
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience as an IM/IT DATA MODELLER performing the GIS-based data overlay analysis for 2D/3D maps with polygons using industry leading toolkit (e.g. ArcGIS).
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience developing software in Python, and other programming languages.
• The candidate must provide examples of work experience as an IM/IT DATA MODELLER performing analysis of existing databases, their contents and structures using complex SQL queries.
• The candidate has a University Degree or College Diploma related to computer science, information technology, or engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution. A copy of each degree or diploma must be provided.
