The Faculty Of Social And Community Services Requires Subject-matter Experts To Develop Course Materials For One Or More Courses In The Fire Prevention And Technology (Advanced Diploma) Program Including
Durham College is seeking an experienced and motivated professionals who share our commitment to quality and student success.
  • Sprinkler Design I, II and III
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the development of high-quality degree level course materials:
  • Quizzes and tests with answer keys; and
  • Learning plan including student learning objectives, activities and assessment dates and weighting;
  • Course policies;
  • Course outline;
  • Course Learning Outcomes and Essential Employability Skills;
  • Assignments with evaluation criteria and rubrics;
  • Assessment criteria and timelines;
  • Text and/or resources selection.
  • Course materials;
The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following qualifications:
  • Understanding of the Ontario college system.
  • Relevant undergraduate degree (or equivalent). Master’s degree is an asset
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated understanding and application of UDL and current assessment methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Part 3 of the Ontario Building Code, NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, NFPA 13D, NFPA 25.
  • A minimum of five years of recent (within the past three years) and relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience in designing water-based sprinkler systems.
  • Certification through the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) is an asset
