We are actively seeking an HSE Coordinator. The incumbent actively supports the development and deployment of accident prevention, occupational disease prevention and environmental protection activities for the operating unit to which he/she is assigned. He/she promotes compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations. He/she may also be called upon to support the implementation of HSE projects in other Ocean operating units, depending on needs and expertise.

YOUR TYPICAL DAY

Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager, you will :

• Demonstrate exemplary HSE behaviour and a strong commitment to the evolution of Ocean’s HSE practices;
• Collaborate in the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS);
• Provide technical support for certain HSE initiatives;
• Ensure the safe use of WHMIS labelled hazardous materials
• Provide various HSE training to employees as required.
• Develop and write, in collaboration with the coordinators, HSE procedures and ensure compliance;
• Actively participate in the HSCs associated with the operating unit;
• Know and enforce compliance with laws, regulations, standards (ISO 14001, ISO45001) and codes in effect
• Actively participate in health, safety and environment committees (including certain sub-committees (e.g.: Green Marine, lockout, confined space, respiratory protection, industrial hygiene, etc.);
• Evaluate and collaborate with purchasing and HSE committees for the selection of PPE;
• Participate and support the activities of the HSEMS.
• Integrate and promote OHS activities in daily operations;

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE

• Experience in the field of health, safety and environment;
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
• University degree in a field relevant to the position;
• Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written (asset).
• Minimum of five (5) years of HSE experience;
