Job Description

PROFILE SUMMARY


The Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmer/ Operator ensures that quality assurance is in accordance with expectations set out in the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and Work Instructions and is equal to the requirements in the customer order or customer contract or the ISO9001:2015 & AS9100:D Standards. An expert CMM programmer is a key catalyst to GN’s success as we enhance our automated measuring capability.


SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

  • Elaborates in the preparation of Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions for the department and the company
  • Assists the Quality Applications Supervisor in delivering training to employees.
  • Ensures corporate assets and property are actively protected and safeguarded and liabilities and errors are minimized.
  • Identifies and records non-conformances, participates in the multidisciplinary GNs team to identify Root Cause, Corrective & Preventive Actions.
  • Ensures that personnel carry out inspections and testing according to stated procedures.
  • Submits recommended solutions to Quality problems and Manufacturing issues.
  • Ensures that personnel understand inspection procedures and are fully qualified to perform these inspections.
  • Collects, inspects, and maintains all quality records & statistical data for accuracy.
  • Verifies & validates processes and product conformance via First Offs, Final Inspection, Process, Surface Finish testing.
  • Verify correction of nonconforming items. Controls further processing of nonconforming items until the deficiency or unsatisfactory conditions have been resolved.
  • Maintains inspection/test equipment and ensures that it is accurate and calibrated to stated procedures.
  • Other duties as directed by Quality Lead and Quality Applications Supervisor.


INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS PROFICIENCY:


In addition to GN Corporations Inc. corporate requirements and recommended industry practices, being knowledgeable in the following regulatory and international standards requirements will be an added asset:

1. AS9100D (Aerospace)

2. ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), I

3. ISO 45001:2018 (Health & Safety),

4. ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental)


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


  • Occupational Health and Safety – Understanding and applying the GN Corporations Inc. Health and Safety policy as well as being responsible for his/her own health and safety at work, to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of others through any act or omission.
  • Industry Standards and Regulations – Being familiar with all relevant industry standards, recommended practices, and regulations. Monitoring self-compliance with company, industry and government requirements as well as promoting their acceptance in all aspects of GN’s business-related activities.


MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • 5+ years of experience as CMM programmer/operator in a manufacturing environment
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree (4+ years)
  • Engineering designation preferred
  • Master proficiency reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, GD&T specifications and measuring features & characteristics in physical components to verify & validate its conformance by using metrology instruments (durometers, bore/profile/high/roughness, angle/radius gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, Gage maker, mic track, optical-laser scanning probing arms, etc.)
  • CMM intermediate programming experience: Calypso, Mcosmos.
  • Proficient in both measuring units’ systems: Imperial & International System of Units (SI)
