Overview


The Enterprise Development and Operations (EDO) department of WorkSafeBC is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, innovative Co-op Student, IT Software Developer to join our team to help us strive towards our vision.


The Enterprise Development and Operations (EDO) Department in the Innovation & Technology Division of WorkSafeBC bring together teams who are collectively responsible for the successful development through to the successful operations of all WorkSafeBC applications and technology infrastructure. Our focus is on maintaining system stability while increasing the speed of delivery. We ensure our stakeholders can depend on our systems to access what they need, when they need it.


This is an eight-month temporary opportunity beginning in September 2023.


How you'll make a difference: You'll apply what you've learned in your post-secondary program to benefit workers and employers across B.C.


Where you'll work


At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.


In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site in our Richmond office at a minimum of twice per month at a minimum.


What You'll Do


  • Support the maintenance of applications by responding to production support and tickets.
  • Learn Agile methodology of DevOps tools, technologies, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and processes essential to the development of cloud applications.
  • Enhance and develop code in an agile environment using technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Angular 5+, C#, .Net, SQL.
  • Writing and maintaining test automation scripts using XUnit and NUnit.

Your Experience And Educational Background


  • Enrolled in a computer science or computer engineering related program.
  • Previous co-op or relevant work experience in an office environment preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Angular 5+, C#, .Net, SQL is preferred.
