Reporting to the Office Manager, the Constituency Assistant role provides a wide range of administration support, immigration case work, communications, and coordination support services.
The incumbent is responsible for handling the majority of the immigration casework and inquiries on behalf of the Member and works with other members of the team to provide excellent service to the Member’s constituents and to support the Member’s constituency and parliamentary work. The incumbent is a key operational strategist in advancing and facilitating the Member’s main objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
- Draft responses to constituent emails and letters, including on general policy and constituency casework issues and ensure accurate records of contacts with constituents are maintained.
- Assist in ensuring that the office is accessible to constituents though regular and consistent hours of operation, including answering phone calls, e-mails, and other correspondence.
- Performs other related duties within the scope of the position.
- Contact government services on behalf of constituents to obtain more information as well as to seek and achieve resolution in immigration cases and follow up with constituents throughout the client file life cycle.
- A background in immigration work;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Ability to prioritize and juggle many files, manage own workload, and apply project management skills;
- Experience working with various types of immigration cases (from the initial consultation on the file to speaking and liaising with various government agencies);
- Ability to manage changing and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database management;
- Post-secondary degree in Political Science OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience;
- Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work independently to efficiently manage multiple and concurrent projects in a high‑stress environment.

Location:5975 Whittle Rd Unit 440, Mississauga, ON L4Z 3N1
Schedule:Full time- Regular office hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
