Are you looking to take part in long-term projects for leading Canadian plans? Then Aon has the opportunity you have been looking for!

Aon is looking for a Configuration Specialist for our implementation team within pension administration. The team works closely with internal teams to implement and support solutions for clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a pension analyst looking to familiarize themselves with tools.

Please note that responsibilities and job levels can vary based on skills and experience. Whether you have 2 years of experience, or 10, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Montreal office.

What The Day Will Look Like

The Configuration specialist works closely with internal teams:

  • Lead all aspects of day-to-day work per priorities
  • Complete unit testing to ensure no major defects are in the calculated results. Determine if the configuration performs accurately, reflects requirements, and has zero negative impact on existing provisions (including regression testing analysis)
  • Analyze issues/defects and debug the system when the configuration is not producing the expected results. Research issues to determine if the source of error is with the test data, test plan, expected results, or configuration
  • Coordinate, manage and monitor activities related to system maintenance
  • Review analysis documents and configure the system (using graphic user interface tools), to fix a system defect or complete a client request/change
  • Resolve issues with test cases or with configuration and re-tests. Raise issues as appropriate
  • Document defects when actual results do not meet expected results

How This Opportunity Is Different

Our highly collaborative team drives innovation through ideas and implementation of solutions that allow an enhanced digital member experience and more efficient internal processing. You will have the ability to work on exciting projects which help redefine the Canadian pension administration services.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

The Configuration Specialist is an extremely detailed self-starter.

  • Understand basic relational database concepts (e.g., table relationships, keys)
  • Troubleshoot basic system defects and errors.
  • Pension work experience
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or equivalent work experience in an analytical area
  • Bilingualism (English and French), highly desired
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to interpret and understand requirements documentation
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
