Job Description

Uni-Fab, a global provider in custom fabrication of aluminum, steel and stainless-steel products has an opening for a Computer Systems Technician.


Under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology, the Computer Systems Technician will participate in the design of information and operation of support systems, and will play a key role in administrating computer systems and resolution of end user issues.


Responsibilities

  • Create and/ or follow proper documentation procedures for troubleshooting IT issues or any other relevant processes.
  • Administer internal IT systems and infrastructure and keep it up to date.
  • Monitor network and mitigate if any issues arise.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve IT related issues.
  • Keep track of IT inventory records and be on top of all equipment knowledge.
  • IT resource assessment to analyze and determine organization needs.
  • Design, operate, and engineer key computer systems.
  • Resolve end user issues by monitoring ticketing system.
  • Make active efforts in improving existing IT systems and bringing in new systems as well.


Qualifications and Technical Skills

  • Solid networking knowledge.
  • Experience in performing systems upgrades, install/uninstall of software.
  • IT help desk support experience an asset.
  • Strong understanding and experience working with Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, GPO's, Windows and SQL servers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer/ Networking related field is preferred.
  • Experience in Server Administration with performing capacity monitoring and planning.
  • Any relevant certifications considered an asset.
  • 2-3 years’ of experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Technician.
  • Experience in scripting languages (i.e. Python, Shell script etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in administering: Office 365, Network Monitoring tool (Auvik preferred), Ticketing systems, Firewall and Networking systems, ERP software, IT hardware, etc.
  • Knowledge of data architectures and algorithms.
