Work Style: In-person with some work from home days. Some evenings, weekends and travel will be required.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Communications and Graphic Designer. The successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of effective communication strategies and the creation of visually appealing materials for print and digital media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies to engage with constituents and stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in communication and graphic design.
- Coordinate with other staff members and external partners to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
- Assist in the organization and management of events, meetings, and public outreach activities.
- Design and create visually appealing materials for print and digital media, including newsletters, social media posts, brochures, booklets and other materials.
- Monitor and manage social media accounts and respond to comments and inquiries.
- Conduct research on relevant topics and provide recommendations for communication and outreach efforts.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, brand and tone.
Preferred Requirements:
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail is crucial.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of political and government procedures and regulations is a plus.
- Experience managing social media accounts and using social media management tools.
- 2+ years of experience in communication and graphic design, preferably in a political or government setting.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Indesign, and Wordpress.
