Job Description

CNC Machine Operator/Programmer:

The CNC Machine Operator/Programmer is responsible for the operation of the Emmegi (5-Axis) CNC machine.

Will also be required to program if need be. He/she will report directly to the Shop Supervisor on all matters. Duties

and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Required Skills

Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.

Must have strong attention to detail.

Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

Knowledge of processes & practices of machining and familiarity with automated machinery.

Ability to use variety of tools and equipment.

Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.

Must be able to write and communicate in English clearly and effectively.

Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise.

Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.

Should have a positive and professional attitude.

Capable of standing for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time.

Knowledge of industry safety practices.

An all-around team player, ethical, and punctual.

Job Specific Duties

Responsible for loading, running, and modifying existing CNC programs.

Responsible for completing “first-off” inspection per component drawings.

Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.

Responsible for ensuring identification process for components is followed.

Responsible for completion of manufacturing process documentation.

Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly.

Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.

Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machine accordingly.

Responsible for maintaining equipment, general housekeeping and determine if repairs are required.

Responsible for completion of fabrication in accordance with existing time standards; and

Able to program the Emmegi CNC (5-Axis) and loading of .stp files as required.

Troubleshoot and resolve problems with the machine as they arise.

Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication.

Routinely work with machine manufacturer for technical issues and continuous improvement of techniques.

Ensuring label printers for machinery is functional and in good working order as required (CNC and others

included).

Alternate light duty fabrication (offline) if downtime occurs or anticipated.

Education

• Past Emmegi CNC operator experience is required.

• Past Manufacturing experience in the industry is a further asset.

Years of Experience

• 3 Years +
