Classroom Assistant Jobs

We are a Montessori School that runs a toddler, Casa, and full elementary program located in Oakville. We just moved into a new and bigger location and are looking to hire 3 new staff members to join our expanding team for the upcoming school year. A few weeks of compensated work throughout the summer months will be ideal for us to familiarize new staff with the students, routines and expectations. We are seeking a Classroom Assistant to join our team at a Montessori School. The ideal candidate will have experience working with toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners and elementary students.

Responsibilities

- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson curriculum implementation

- Provide behavior management and redirection when necessary

- Assist with the care and supervision of children in the classroom

- Help maintain a clean and safe classroom environment

- Communicate effectively with other staff members

- Supervise outdoor/recess duties and possibly some before school and after school program shifts

Experience

- Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting required

- Experience working with children between 18 months to 12 years of age

- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team environment

Requirements

- First aid and CPR certification

- Vulnerable screening check

- Up to date on vaccinations or have legal exemption

- ECE certification OR Montessori Diploma (preferably AMI) OR equivalency
