American Iron and Metal located at the Port of Saint John is searching for experienced Class 1 drivers. The candidate will be responsible for the daily pick-up and/or delivery of various metal products to and from the state of Maine.

• Other labourous and operating duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Perform a daily inspection;
• Keep reports up-to-date;
• Pick up and/or deliver to AIM’s commercial clients or another AIM site;
• Tarp the load, if necessary;
• Keep the equipment clean and in good working condition;
• Secure the loads;
• Always work in a safe manner.

Qualifications

• Eligible for International (USA) cross border travel (must have a valid passport)
• Good drivers abstract;
• Minimum two (2) years experience
• Class 1 license, required;

Aptitudes Requested:

• Responsible, careful and alert at all times;
• Follow all laws and regulations, in regards to driving truck;
• Willing and able to perform labour intensive tasks;
• Good knowledge of roads in the state of Maine and the Maritime Provinces.

Additional Information

• Full time and permanent position;
• Overtime paid at time and a half after 44 hours.
• Schedule of work: Varies
