THE OPPORTUNITY

TechInsights’ circuit analysis is one of our core competencies. As a part of our circuit team, you will perform circuit and functional analysis of state-of-the-art wireless, memory and other System on a Chip devices and systems to reveal the innovation that others can’t. With constant market innovation, our team needs additional engineers to keep up with the demand. This is an exciting role with many dimensions that will promise continuous learning and career growth.

What You Will Do

TechInsights is seeking a new grad engineer with knowledge of analog and digital circuit design to perform the following:

• Perform patent categorization, patent review, hit hunting and claim mapping analysis for IP projects.
• Participate in subscription builds by determining and establishing areas for analysis, preparing die floor plan analysis, standard cell schematic and layout extraction as well as standard cell statistical analysis.
• Work within state-of-the-art internal CAD tool to drop recognized devices, set key device parameters (size) and establish connectivity.
• Map active and passive devices to image elements and construct the schematic structure.
• Provide hands-on detailed analysis of analog, mixed-signal and/or custom digital circuit designs.
• Perform circuit extraction, active and passive device identification from high resolution images.
• Engage with customers as needed to discuss technical findings and provide technical support.

What You Have

• A self-starter mind-set with the ability to proactively identify risks and areas of concern related to project timelines and scope.
• A team player attitude with the ability to also work well on self-directed projects.
• BSc or higher in Electrical Engineering with a preference for microelectronics specialization
• The willingness to learn, grow and receive guidance from our senior Circuit Analysts
• You currently reside in (or near to) Ottawa, or are willing to relocate (this role requires you to be office)
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design including transmitters and receivers

BONUS IF YOU HAVE

• Experience with one or more of the following technology areas:
• Relevant co-op or internship experience with a focus on IC design, IC processing
• Digital Circuit design, Broadband Processing, algorithm design or digital circuit implementation for major standards (3G cellular, 802.11x, mp3/mp4 etc.)
• RF and/or Mixed Signal Analog design
