Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Head Chef for Stonesedge Kitchen, located in the heart of Whistler Village.


Our ideal candidate is passionate about all things brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night dining. Join our dedicated team and take charge of our culinary operations, elevating our menu and always ensuring impeccable execution.


The role is focused on creating the ultimate guest experience through the quality of the food. You will take pride in the way it is served and continue to source the best and most sustainable ingredients to take our food program to the next level.


We are looking to build a team that provides a first class experience for our guests and members as well as being and engine that places all potential guests into our Gibbons Wheel, guiding the company towards profitability and long term success.


Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality food production, and exceptional culinary standards across all meal periods.


Develop innovative and enticing menus that cater to a variety of tastes, incorporating fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.


Supervise and train a team of talented culinary professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.


Maintain inventory levels, manage food costs, and ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed.


Consistently enforce adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment.


Collaborate with management and Gibbons Executive team to create special menus for events, promotions, and seasonal occasions.


Foster relationships with local suppliers.


Ensure adequate information and training is giving to Front of House staff through product and menu knowledge.


Have your finger on the pulse with industry trends, culinary techniques, and emerging flavors to keep our offerings relevant and exciting.


Qualifications


Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a fast-paced restaurant setting (3 years minimum)


Extensive knowledge of various cuisines, culinary techniques, and food presentation.


Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to deliver outstanding results.


Strong organizational and time management abilities.


A keen eye for detail, ensuring that each dish leaving the kitchen meets our high standards of quality and presentation.


Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, management, and suppliers.


Cool, calm and collected attitude during busy service.


Red Seal certification, or other relevant training, an asset.
