Job Description
The Care Group (“TCG”) offers high quality residential care services to complex care clients in 8 homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

THE OPPORTUNITY


We are looking for Chef/Cook to join our Sidney Care team in Sidney, B.C.

Full-time, Monday to Friday 9 to 5:30pm, benefits, RRSP


What does a Chef do in a Long-Term Care Facility?


  • Request feedback from the residents about food preferences and menu development
  • Prepare specialized and textured diets
  • Monitor food cost and maintain budget
  • Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
  • Order all food and supplies for the kitchen
  • Lead the kitchen in preparing the main meals
  • Work with the Dietitian to prepare appropriate menus for the residents


Qualifications Of a Chef


  • Experience in preparing specialized and textured diets preferred
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • Experience working in a hotel/banquet/fine dining preferred
  • Experience as a Food Nutrition and Support Manager preferred
  • Red Seal or equivalent


About Sidney Care: Sidney Care is located on Vancouver Island in sunny Sidney, BC and offers residential care to 54 clients. Sidney Care has been in operation for many years and provides a home like environment to its residents. The facility was recently renovated and is tastefully decorated. Sidney Care works in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Health Authority, to ensure quality care to all of our clients.
