Job Description
POST Structures in Alma, ON is looking to hire a full-time Carpentry Apprentice to learn general carpentry skills through hands-on work in wood framing, finishing, and cladding. This entry-level skilled trade position earns a competitive wage of $22 to $30 per hour, depending on experience. After a three-month probation period, we provide comprehensive benefits, including extended medical, vision, dental, life, disability, employee & family assistance program (EFAP), a bonus structure, and fun company events! Additionally, we offer our Carpentry Apprentices the opportunity to supplement their hands-on training with coursework at Conestoga College in their general carpentry program. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Carpentry APPRENTICE


As a Carpentry Apprentice, you have the opportunity to learn directly under our general Carpentrys as they build a variety of rural and agricultural structures. On job sites, you assist our Carpentrys as they perform wood framing, finishing, and cladding. You learn and follow our construction process, developing your skills along the way. Always looking for ways to help out, you also keep our job sites clean and organized. You supplement your hands-on work by participating in training and coursework as you build the necessary knowledge and experience to become a fully-fledged Carpentry. Your satisfaction comes from learning an exciting, lucrative trade and working with a great team!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A Carpentry APPRENTICE


  • Ability to reliably commute to jobs within a 2-2.5-hour radius of our shop in Alma, ON OR plan to relocate before starting work
  • Genuine interest in building a carpentry career
  • Driver's license


One or more years of carpentry experience is preferred. Are you a hard worker? Can you follow instructions accurately? Do you prioritize safety and quality at all times? If yes, you might just be perfect for this entry-level skilled trade position!


WORK SCHEDULE FOR A Carpentry APPRENTICE


This full-time construction position works Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
