Project Location: Neepawa, Manitoba
Positions: Carpenters and Skilled Labourers
Responsibilities
We are looking for Carpenters and Skilled Labourers for a project in Neepawa, Manitoba. These positions are project based and employment durations will be based on project needs. As a member of the Construction Team and reporting to the Superintendent on site, your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Excavation, Backfill and Compaction
  • Miscellaneous Subgrade Insulation
  • Lay out floorings, roofing or walls ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
  • Take measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed.
  • Other duties as required
  • Miscellaneous Formwork and Concrete Reinforcement
  • General cleanup
  • Temporary Hoarding and Fencing
  • Move materials around worksite and ensuring all tools, machinery, and other equipment are safely set up.
  • Miscellaneous Concrete Work Including Placement
  • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other materials according to measurements.
  • Always follow site safety rules.
What We Are Looking For
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of basic math.
  • Able to work well in a team environment and help others as needed.
  • Construction experience is required.
  • Proven experience as a carpenter, Journeyperson status preferred for Carpenter positions, but we will consider apprentices working towards their red seal.
  • High school diploma or similar.
  • Enrolment/completion or apprenticeship program recommended.
  • Willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
