Job Description
Collective Construction is a growing new company that loves building outside the box. We’ve helped build unique projects where we help execute the customer’s vision, including important civic projects and medium to large projects.

We seek a Journeyperson or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice Carpenter in Fort McMurray, Alberta, who can help make customers’ ideas reality.

Our Team Members enjoy working with an upbeat crew who can have fun while getting work done. They are trusted to make their own decisions while being supported instead of micromanaged.

We are based in town, and you can be home by 5:30 every evening. There are opportunities for overtime for those who want or need it.

We offer an excellent wage of $40 per hour for a Journeyperson, along with benefits, generous vacation pay, and up to 3 months of accommodation to help candidates who need to relocate.

We also offer profit-sharing incentives for Team Members who help build our business. We are also transparent with project plans and budgets so we can offer our team financial incentives based on getting the job done right and on time.

Here’s how our hiring process works. Qualified applicants will receive an interview with our recruiting team. If it goes well, they will then receive an interview with the hiring manager and a job offer if successful.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings and structures, conducting required repairs and maintenance
  • Communicating candidly and professionally with customers, building trust and repeat business
  • Reading blueprints and drawings to fully grasp project requirements
  • Lay out floorings, roofings, or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
  • Build windows, frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of materials required and ordering materials when needed
  • Other duties as required
  • Completing Work Orders and other administrative paperwork in a timely fashion
