Board of Directors Call for Nominations


LOUD Art Society is welcoming two additional board members Vice President and Compliance Director.


Vice President

As the VicePresidentof Loud Art Society, your primary duties include developing strategies to meet fundraising goals and create sustainable revenue for the organization. You plan fundraising events and approach potential new donors for support. your position involves building long-term relationships withdonors, especially those that may provide a major gift or donation.


Responsibilities

  • Discuss and Review with the Chief Executive any issues of concern to the Board
  • Help guide and mediate Board actions with respect to organizational priorities and governance concerns
  • Create and foster and maintain a strong network of support in various sectors including the three levels of government (municipal, provincial, federal), nonprofit sector, public enterprise, and philanthropic
  • Play a leading role in fundraising activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the President
  • Evaluate annually the performance of the organization in achieving its mission
  • Working with the Executive Directors to develop fundraising strategies and yearly budget plan
  • Monitor financial planning and financial reports
  • Assigned to a special area of responsibility such as membership, media, personnel, annual event, etc.
  • Reports to and works closely with the President to assist with his or her duties
  • Maintaining positive relationships by liaising between the organization, the public, member municipalities, government departments and other stakeholders;
  • Acts as the President in his or her absence
  • Foster strong business bonds andprofessional relationships with staff, media, the board and all other stakeholder


Qualifications


  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a nonprofit board member.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Business, or relevant field.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit industry and regulations.
  • An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.

This is a 3 year-term position serving as a board member

Compliance Director

We are searching for a diligent and professional Compliance Director to join our dynamic organization. You will be responsible for ensuring our operations and procedures comply with legal regulations and internal policies.

In this position, you will perform a range of duties including evaluating all current and new compliance regulations, reviewing organization’s processes, and providing legal advice. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with in-depth knowledge ofnonprofits, the latest industry procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all business operations relating to compliance including policies,fundraising, and procedures.
  • Design and monitor control systems to deal with violations of legal rules and internal policies.
  • Review and evaluate organization’s procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues.
  • Regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements.
  • Perform periodic audits on company procedures and processes.
  • Working with executive director and other board members to develop and implement company policies and regulations

Requirements:

  • An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit industry and regulations.
  • Licensed (or license eligible with application pending) to practice law
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Compliance Officer, Compliance Manager, or similar position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or relevant field.
