Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to work part-time (weekend shifts) as Bike Valet Attendants. As a Bike Valet Attendant, you will be jointly responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the bike valet service during the operating hours. This position involves light physical work outdoors in summer conditions and requires collaboration with a Kelowna Area Cycling Coalition director.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service to cyclists utilizing the bike valet service.
  • Monitor the valet area for security purposes and report any suspicious activities or incidents.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Safely park and retrieve bicycles following established procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kelowna Area Cycling Coalition director.


Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure the proper handling and storage of bicycles.
  • Contractor may choose shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM for a period of 10 weeks, starting from July 1st.
  • Physically capable of performing light duties such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting bicycles (within reasonable limits).
  • Ability to work outdoors in summer conditions, including exposure to heat and sun.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle potentially stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to fulfilling the contracted shifts.
  • Knowledge and passion for cycling, bike routes, and the benefits of sustainable transportation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with cyclists and provide assistance as needed.
