Moz is looking for a natural problem solver with a strong interest both in fulfilling the business' expanding appetite for data, and helping define our data analytics roadmap. This role will be involved in all parts of the Business Intelligence process for the Martech division, from data acquisition to final presentation. The engineer will develop reports and self-service tools for internal customers via Domo and Amazon Quicksight from data housed in log files, Redshift, Vertica, S3 buckets, datashares, and 3rd party API integrations; pipelined via Pentaho and AWS Glue; to serve internal customers.
Responsibilities:

• Utilize business intelligence expertise, business knowledge and technical skills to successfully deliver solutions that help solve business challenges.
• Document technical standards, build and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary.
• Act as the subject matter expert for sourcing and transforming diverse, structured data across the Ziff Davis product platforms using combinations of pipeline tools.
• Partner with cross-functional business stakeholders to gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture
• Assess the impact of production system changes to the existing pipelines and implement changes to data warehouse, ETL, and reporting code to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.
• Analyze, design, and test BI front-end deployment and back-end ETL processes according to user requirements.
• Define key metrics thoroughly understanding data streams; act as a subject matter expert and manage through obstacles to achieve program objectives

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence/Reporting Analyst or Engineer role.
• Ability to manage data from multiple data sources including varying database platforms, log files, Google Analytics, S3 Buckets, Salesforce, and API endpoints.
• Highly self-motivated and directed with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in pipelining large, complex data structures.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data from various sources and formats.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
• 2+ years of experience deploying data visualizations into BI solutions, especially Domo and Amazon Quicksight.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, and remote environment.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills with ability to communicate ideas and solutions to non-technical users
• Experience with linux-related concepts: ssh, command-line interfacing, cron jobs
• 3+ years of knowledge and experience using database systems, SQL, and ETL tools, especially Pentaho, HPE Vertica and Amazon Redshift.
• Passion and interest in Business Intelligence, ETL Processes, Data Warehousing, Data Integration, and Data Modeling.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior or current experience working within a SaaS environment
• DataDog implementation and utilization
• CI/CD Pipeline
• Exposure to Kanban and JIRA
• Professional experience using managed cloud services (AWS)
• Terraform and ECS design and maintenance
• Professional experience using command-line interfaces and shell scripting
