Job Description

Data Centre Compute & Storage Specialist (Data Centre Migration)

Location: Chalk River, Ontario (Hypid – partial on-site for a duration - partial off-site for a duration)


  • 3Months (100% Effort) Onsite 50% of the time with 50% Remote
  • 8Weeks (100% Effort) Working in Chalk River Daily
  • 4Months (50% Effort) Onsite as required, likely only a few site visits during this period/mainly remote


Summary/Experience:

  • Familiar with DC migrations/transformations – ‘start to finish’.
  • Closing old Data Centre (DC), migrating to new one nearby (both in Chalk River)
  • Experience – Data Centre Migration, Physical and Non-Physical Migration (Ie. Racks, Cables, Assembly etc…)
  • Storage, Data Centre, Racking, Cabling specialist.


Introduction

The objective is to relocate the current Data Centre environment which includes all physical networking and data centre infrastructure, services and applications they provide to the new Science Collaboration Centre (SCC) B703.


Scope Description


The installation of this scope includes the following to be performed by the Bell Team:

  • Enterprise Compute & Storage
  • Data Centre Build Out
  • Data Centre Cabling including In Rack Cabling and power distribution
  • Data Centre Equipment Racks
  • Core Networking and Telecommunications
  • Scientific Compute & Storage
  • Cleanup and Disposal
