Barn/Domestic Animal Care Attendant.
Working with a variety of animal species including cows, horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits etc.
The job position works predominantly with barnyard animals. But may also including working with smaller domestic later in employment.
Job requirements
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
• Highly Organized.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Further education in an animal related field (preferred) .
• Experience with animals such as horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs etc.
• Passion for animal care/ husbandry.
• Understand and align with what S.A.I.N.T.S mission stands for.
• Flexible with shift work.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs. (lifting hay bales etc).
Benefits
• Wage: $17/18 hourly, 40 hours per week.
• Be available to work weekends if assigned.
• Shift work .
• 10 days vacation after 1 year of employment.
• 5 days sick leave.
• Extended health Benefits will be provided after 90 days of employment.
Duties
• Provide excellent care to any animal(s) assigned to the employees care.
• Provide fresh water, food and any medications needed.
• Provide enrichment for animals in care.
• Ensure the animal(s) have enrichment and has a stress/fear free environment.
• Ensure all animal enclosures are kept clean and follow cleaning mandates.
• Ensure each room and equipment within the facility you are assigned to working
In, is kept clean and organized, including but not limited to bathrooms, fridges, equipment etc.
• Report any issues to supervisors. (Including but not limited to, not eating, not drinking, refusal of medications, defecating issues, urinating issues, unusual behavior, equipment issues, maintenance issues etc.)
• Inform supervisors when we are low on items so they can be ordered.
• Ensure that logs are kept fully up to date; including check lists, medication records, wellness records, vaccinations, deworming etc.
• Be willing to work with a variety of different species including farm, exotic and domestic companion animals.
• Any other duties assigned to you.
