An Azure architect is a cloud architect for Microsoft who understands all phases of a software project life cycle and can develop solutions, implement projects, and set up monitoring systems for businesses using Microsoft Azure. An Azure architect must have advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance. An Azure architect also advises stakeholders, translates business requirements into designs for secure, scalable, and reliable Azure solutions, and partners with other roles for implementing solutions on Azure. Additionally, an Azure architect provides guidance on network security, Azure Policies and Blueprints, Azure Monitor, and Azure security and governance mechanisms. An Azure architect must have excellent communication skills and a thorough awareness of both the cloud environment and the specific challenges of the industry.
