We are seeking a Term of Project Associate Editor who is excited to be part of a team that is committed to creating new, culturally relevant curriculum materials that engage today’s students. The Associate Editor will use their educational background and curriculum knowledge in combination with on-the-job training in editorial processes and project management in the development of new and innovative instructional materials for Grades K–12. The Associate Editor works collaboratively with the rest of the editorial team to execute assignments to meet the quality standards for the project.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Assist editorial team in all aspects of editing, including researching, and fact-checking, rewriting, copy-editing, and proofreading
  • Provide accurate status on all assignments
  • Learn and follow established procedures and company policies
  • Keep abreast of curriculum changes and trends in educational publishing
  • Adhere to deadlines and follow workflow processes
  • Seek guidance or clarification from supervisor when objectives or directions are not clear
  • Refer all decisions with budget or schedule implications to immediate supervisor for advice and action
  • Participate in regular meetings and discussions
  • Support editorial team with maintaining trackers, filing electronic and print records, and other administrative tasks
  • Show growth over time in response to supervisor’s direction and coaching


Required Knowledge And Experience


  • Ability to multitask, work independently, set priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to implement constructive feedback to refine skills
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably with specialization in Mathematics
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including good grasp of language conventions
  • Detail-oriented, but with an understanding of overall project objectives and goals
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and G-Suite
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks on time with the required level of quality

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical to successful performance in this role.
