Assistant Supervisor Jobs

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline all reporting employees.
• Advise Marble Department Manager of all marble quality issues.
• Review shop drawings, as received from Department Manager, and determine production requirements, specifications of products, and scheduled delivery dates.
• Maintain all machinery and equipment in good working condition, using either shop repair personnel or outside repair shops.
• Compile and produce production reports, production schedules, and exception reports weekly or when required by changes or substantial problems.
• Monitor employee progress in completing assigned jobs.
• Observe employees to ensure compliance with standards and technologies.
• Ensure marble shop is maintained, neat, clean and organized.
• Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.
• Plan production operations, establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, and coordinate activities with Estimators/Project Managers.
• Purchase supplies and equipment up to established budget limits.
• Schedule work assignments with lead production workers on a daily and weekly basis.
• Develop or revise standard operational and working practices.
• Assist employees in completion of more difficult tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum five years on-the-job experience in fabrication and/or installationwith at leastone year’s experience in a supervisory or lead position.
• Must have good interpersonal skills to manage the performance of personnel assigned and to foster good work habits.
• Must have proven knowledge of Geometry and how it relates to the development of formulas and procedures to fabricate stone.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and/or layouts.
• Manufacturing operations in Granite and Marble finished operations.
• Attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60K-$80K annually

Schedule:

• Morning shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Concord, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• Marble industry supervisor: 1 year (preferred)
