Positions Available:
Archaeologists: All levels (Permit Holders, Field Directors, Field Archaeologists & Archaeology Technicians)
Work Locations:
Throughout British Columbia
Salaries/Wages:
·Field Directors/Permit Holders: $85,000-$110,000 based on 36 hrs/wk
·Field Archaeologists (incl. Supervisors): $70,000-$85,000 based on 36 hrs/wk
·Archaeology Technicians (incl. Archaeology Summer Students): $24-$36/hr

Now Indigenous-owned, Landsong (established 1998) is based at Moberly Lake BC and operates across BC. Landsong endorses a cultural approach to archaeology and collaborates with Indigenous communities, facilitating and assisting with community-led traditional land use studies. (tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to):
·Conducting archaeology assessments with subsurface testing in varied terrain and landscapes across BC for industries including oil and gas, utility, and renewable energy
·Data collection to facilitate community-lead Indigenous land use studies
·Fieldwork may be located in remote locations with accommodation in camps and hotels
·Compliance with and contribution to the continued development of the Landsong Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Program
·Adherence to the Landsong Quality Management Program (QMP)
·Preference may be given to applicants willing to relocate to the Peace River Region / NE BC
Job May Also Include:
·Technical writing and report review with attention given to detail and quality
·Assisting with project management, the Landsong EHS program and general administration
Minimum Requirements for:
Permit Holders, Field Directors & Field Archaeologists (incl. Supervisors):
·B.A. or B.Sc. in Archaeology or Anthropology
·Completion of an archaeology field school program at an accredited university, college or equivalent field experience
·Ability to work independently and as per permit methods with minimal oversight
·Field-fitness: ability to hike in rough terrain and carry a pack and field equipment
·Valid Class 5 Driver License
Archaeology Technicians (incl. University Summer Students):
·Ability to work in a team setting
·Field-fitness: ability to hike in rough terrain and carry a pack and field equipment
·Valid Class 5 Driver License
·Completion of an archaeology field school program at an accredited university, college or equivalent field experience is an asset
