What is the opportunity?


The Business and Client Services (BCS) group is the functional core of RBC Capital Markets’ trading activities. We provide our business partners greater efficiency, scalability and control within their operational processing, helping to ensure the firm’s continued growth and success.


What will you do?


You will join a specific BCS team. The roles and responsibilities will vary depending on the team you are assigned to but could include:


  • Review and analyze new business rule changes or system changes that impact reporting processes and perform associated testing
  • Support our Reconciliations team by working with our internal settlement teams and Canadian/Foreign banks to identify and resolve issues
  • Support our Regulatory team with various aspects of regulatory reporting to ensure Capital Markets’ operations remains compliant with internal policies, industry regulators and tax authorities
  • Support our various trading systems including our derivatives products and related booking systems
  • Process regulatory documentation to support with client onboarding and client outreach


Experience and background we’re looking for:


Must-haves:


  • Ability to collect, analyse, interpret and query data
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a logical mind-set and technical aptitude
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills – clear and concise oral, written and presentation abilities
  • Ability to comprehend and document complex business requirements
  • Proven relationship-building skills to create, maintain and enhance relationships with internal and/or external partners
  • Inherent sense of ownership and initiative


Nice-to-haves


  • Familiarity with Sophis, Bloomberg, MarkitWire, Murex, DTCC
  • Understanding of financial products (Equities, Listed Derivatives, Fixed Income, OTC Derivatives, Futures, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of Capital Markets operational functions and processes including familiarity with front, middle and back office trading and operating platforms
  • Proficiency with Broadridge and Fidessa
  • Prior experience in Capital Markets Broker / Dealer Operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of investment vehicles, security types, investment products and practical investment industry knowledge
  • Understanding of the trade life cycle (Orders, Executions, Allocations) and Middle Office Trade Processing
