Job description:
Position Title: DevOps Engineer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute to our growing tech infrastructure, you will be responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and supporting tasks within the Capgemini team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in building, designing, and implementing our systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of our products. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsiblities:
What you’ll do:

• Investigate and reduce the longest running steps in web build jobs.
• Isolate integration tests to improve overall E2E build times.
• Lead functional and architectural design of assigned areas, ensuring that design decisions on the project meet architectural and design requirements.
• Build, design, and implement systems that support our growing infrastructure.
• Research and remediate the root cause of flaky tests.
• Collaborate with the team to prepare functional and design specifications, approve them with all stakeholders, and ensure that assigned areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives.
• Resolve crisis situations within your area of responsibility.
• Provide estimations, agree on task duration with the manager, and contribute to the project plan of assigned areas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of products.

Required Skills:
What you’ll have:

• Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet), containerization (e.g. Docker), container orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes) and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack) with at least 3+ years of experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues with applications and infrastructure quickly. To be able to identify root causes of problems and take corrective actions to prevent similar issues from happening in the future with at least 5+ years of experience
• Proficiency in coding and scripting languages like Python, Bash, JS, Groovy, etc. to automate the build (Buildkite/JS), deployment, and monitoring of applications and infrastructure with at least 3+ years of experience

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Python testing frameworks, Buildkite/JS
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud computing platforms

This project would involve researching the root cause of each test that flakes and work to remediate in isolation or propose changes that would decrease the impact of the test(s). Investigate web build jobs and determine methods to reduce the longest running steps. Isolating integration tests away from the pre-commit pipelines would improve the overall E2E times for builds resulting in a fast round trip feedback for dev on the latest changes.
