Director Credit Risk Management Jobs

Deep knowledge of credit risk management concepts, techniques, and regulatory requirements.

Develop and maintain credit risk management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Collaborate with Investment Management, Finance, and IT on cross-division initiatives and projects

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of quantitative professionals.

Extensive Experience in project management across multi-functional teams

Experience working in a fintech or finance/banking institutions is nice to have but not required

Work in a cross functional capacity across all business units including product, marketing, operations, risk, fraud, compliance and finance

5-7 years experience with building and deploying ML models into production especially in the area of unsecured personal lending

Strong development experience with Python is a must along with ML libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit learn, TensorFlow)

Manage a team of credit and collections specialists; monitoring portfolios performance and address approvals according to the delegation of authority

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Options Finance or Accounting

10 to 15 years of relevant experience

Excellent knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis

Excellent judgment and analytical skills, and ability to explain and influence

Hybrid workplace: in-person and remote work

Report key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk and control or audit.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working with regulatory bodies is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

At least seven years of experience in financial industry, preferably but not necessarily related to CLOs or Structured Finance.

Exceptional level of personal responsibility, appropriate initiative and self-management.

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (finance, engineering, economics, etc.).

Interest in capital markets and structured finance.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of programming languages is a plus but not required.

What You Need To Know

Progressive experience in leading the development and implementation of IT Risk Management frameworks, policies, related processes, and controls

Accountable for ensuring orchestration and visibility of all risk management activities, acting as a key point of contact for I&O

Provide risk management support to process control owners and their testing activities

Improve the awareness of risk management within the I&O organization through both formal and informal means including webcasts, newsletters, open-door hours

Contribute to the evolution of Canada Life’s technology operations management strategy and operating model

Maintain a knowledge base of emerging threats and risks
