They operate heavy machinery and use a variety of tools to safely and efficiently excavate and transport the materials to the surface. Detailed Job Description Underground miners are responsible for operating and maintaining underground mining equipment, such as drills, loaders, and haulage vehicles. They must be able to safely and efficiently operate the machinery and tools to excavate and transport the materials. They must also be able to identify and assess potential hazards and take appropriate safety measures. Underground miners must be able to read and interpret maps and diagrams to plan and execute mining operations. They must also be able to monitor and inspect the equipment for any signs of wear and tear and take corrective action when necessary. Job Skills Required
