Must have a four (4) year University Degree in Civil Engineering, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalencies.
Must have over one (1) year of experience in either a Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning environment.
Must have knowledge of the Planning Act and related legislation and provincial policies.
Must have excellent writing skills and the ability to make oral presentations.

They also work with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure that transportation plans are in compliance with regulations. They may also be responsible for researching and analyzing transportation trends, developing and implementing public outreach programs, and preparing reports and presentations. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in computer applications such as GIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, transportation planning, or a related field
• Master’s degree in urban planning, transportation planning, or a related field preferred
• Professional certification in transportation planning preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in transportation planning
