Superintendent Maintenance Jobs

Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent will have the following responsibilities:

Ensures all maintenance personnel have the required training as per legislative and Company requirements.

Manages employee performance and adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures on site with the assistance of the HR team.

· A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in the mining industry.

· A minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing and mentoring a team of supervisors.

· Experience in managing a large equipment fleet.

Experience with CSA B51 and TSSA requirements

Fill in for Maintenance Manager as required.

10 years of chemical plant experience with 5 years in a leadership role

Experience with API standards 570, 650, 653, 620, 576, 682 etc.

Experience with CMMS (preferably SAP)

Experience as a leader in a unionized environment required

• Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.

• Recommend changes/improvements to the maintenance management system and standards.

• Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience in Maintenance. Strong analytical skills are required.

Demonstrates excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective management skills.

5 plus years’ experience in a management/supervisory role is required.

Perform maintenance management on all fronts by directing maintenance workers and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules and tasks.

Coordinate outside activities, such as inspections, ensuring safety protocols are met, and project management.

Maintain all manufacturing assets in facilities, monitor equipment inventory, handle purchase orders, invoice approvals, and manage maintenance department budgets.

Review maintenance department financials to manage labor costs, maintenance costs, and other expenses in budgets.

Demonstrates excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities, and effective management skills.

Communicate with production and management personnel regarding unplanned downtime, and scheduling of planned downtime.

Directly supervises the maintenance department; oversees the performance management, attendance and training functions.

Must have strong computer skills using MS Office products, experience with PM software preferred.

To assist the compounding, shipping, and production managers to keep the equipment capacity at near 100% at all times.

Participate in department budget allocation decisions and manage relationships with vendors & contractors.

Previous experience working in a remote mine site in Arctic conditions is required; and

Work with the Manager, Maintenance to ensure department activities are within budgets and scheduled timelines;

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance, duties will include (but are not limited to):

Plans, coordinates, distributes, and evaluates the work of the Maintenance department;

Identify, source and issue purchase request mechanical parts and components required for maintenance activities;

Develops long range detailed plans, schedules, and procedures for the systematic preventative maintenance of all equipment;

Strong safety culture. Great attitude, and aptitude. Excellent communication skills.
