Models and coaches residents to use conflict resolution and mediation skills to support positive relations between residents;
Contributes knowledge and expertise to team members to develop meaningful and relevant services for clients.
1 to 3 years’ experience in counselling and group work focused on clients at risk and/or homeless women;
Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction principles and practice;
Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and supports focused on mental health and group support;
In-depth knowledge of the dynamics of woman abuse and trauma within an anti-oppression framework;
Part-Time Shelter Support Worker (B-141)

Provide support, feedback, behaviour management, input and/or crisis intervention to clients on issues of daily living relating to precipitating issues.
Maintain supplies in the linen cupboard for distribution to residents as required, coordinate with Reception Clerk for replenishment.
Related social services diploma or equivalent with experience preferred.
Knowledge of the social service system in Toronto.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Conduct emergency intakes and assist new residents to settle in.
