Senior Group Underwriter Jobs in Nova Scotia

Understand the complexities of group benefits and the products available.

Calculate projected renewal rating (based on 9 months of experience) and write letter outlining the results, for clients’ budgeting purposes.

Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English).

Intermediate knowledge level of Excel

Must be analytical and possess strong decision-making skills.

Excellent computer software usage skills, mainly with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Maintain medical knowledge and stay current on underwriting approaches

Minimum 3 years of experience as an Individual Life Underwriter

Analytical, judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Knowledge of medicine and risk factors

Service-oriented attitude with interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with our internal and external partners

Have knowledge of the principles and practice of insurance, underwriting policies, and procedures

5 - 7 years of experience in Underwriting
