Production support of the large production and non-production databases (including DPF) along with monitoring, performance tuning, and maintenance.

Design, setup, installation, and upgrade of DB2 multipartition DPF large-sized databases

Data migration of large-size databases

Setup and maintenance of HADR and SQL and Q Replication

Responsible for monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database and performing query optimizations.

DB2 LUW(Linux, Unix and Windows) DBA/ Database administration

• Managing the database availability and performance, including incident and problem management

• Hands-on technical working experience with database creation, configuration, backup/restore and upgrade of database, mainly DB2

• Possess a strong foundation knowledge with Security & Auditing, Database Performance & Tuning, and PL/SQL

• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies preferred

• Knowledge of SQL complex queries, RDBMs databases – DB2

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Team is using DB2 as back end.

This candidate will help support on Database team in Release and future changes.

Working with DBA teams on issues and support on Product issues, implementation and data base structure.

• Sybase (management, upgrade and migration)

• Upgrade Sybase and Sybase servers to supported version in PPEs and PRD

• Active role on entire activities for detailed planning

• Perform database objects cleanup to remove unused and retired objects and data

• Develop Sybase final Database logical design as well as architectural and technical documentation

• Work with the testers and application owners to ensure the Quality assurance and UAT acceptance

We have a NEW requirement for a DB2 Developer with one of our clients in Montreal, QC.

• Strong relational database skills especially with DB2 or/and Greenplum

• Knowledge of Hadoop/Spark/Snowflake is desirable

• Experience with Power Designer or some similar modeling tool

• Experience with data mining is a big plus

• Experienced in Agile development process

·At least 5+ years of experience with the development of data workflows in Informatica and/or Talend

·Experience with developing scripts and utilities in Perl and Python

·Experience with Autosys and/or Airflow

·Experience with Hadoop a plus

·Experience with both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies

·Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

Performance monitoring and tuning: Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning tools to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.

Experience with AWS Aurora and various reporting tools.

Problem-solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Install, configure, and maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL database servers.

Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and other database objects to support business processes.

Responsibilities include support and maintenance for database environment, production scheduling and ensuring support for established service levels is met.

Deep level knowledge of relevant hardware / software.

Extensive Oracle knowledge of (11G, 12C, 19C)

In depth knowledge of RMON, ASM, RAC, Golden Gate data guard

Redhat knowledge with Scripting (Perl, Shell, Python)

Undergraduate degree; and ITIL Foundation Certificate.
