Satellite Communications Specialist Jobs in British Columbia

• 3+ years of design and AIT (assembly, integration, and testing) experience with small satellite systems

• Significant hands-on engineering experience with mechanical and electrical systems and sub-system integration

• Significant knowledge of and deep passion for the space industry at large

• Experience with various technical analysis tools such as MATLAB and STK

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research

Manage network and communications system UPS units ranging from 1500 VA to 10 kVA.

Install and maintain wireless LAN systems including bridges to remote islands and ships.

Service weather data collection systems on remote islands.

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering, communications systems, or satellite systems. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Diversified satellite engineering experience in design, system integration, operational support and review.

Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining technical communication equipment.

Content planning and development skills, and experience using content management systems.

Project management skills and ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Strong supplier management experience with the ability to oversee the purchasing process.

Education or experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Journalism, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations.

A strong communicator with five (5) or more years’ recent, related experience.

Experience planning, implementing and measuring integrated communications initiatives against objectives.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and evaluate competing priorities

Support issues management and crisis communications initiatives and emerging items

Develop creative social media copy, perform media monitoring, and contribute to issues management solutions

Excellent research skills and analytical abilities

Manage and respond to inquiries, prepare key messages, track responses and timelines

3+ years of experience in marketing, communications and/or related roles
