Overview A Residential Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and other electrical components in residential buildings. They must be knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code and local building codes and regulations. Detailed Job Description A Residential Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and other electrical components in residential buildings. They must be knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code and local building codes and regulations. They must be able to read blueprints and diagrams to determine the layout of electrical wiring and equipment. Residential Electricians must be able to install and repair electrical systems in homes, apartments, and other residential buildings. They must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and make repairs. They must also be able to install and maintain electrical systems in accordance with local codes and regulations. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of electrical systems and components
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local building codes and regulations
• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems
• Ability to install and repair electrical systems
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to work safely and follow safety protocols
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Completion of an apprenticeship program
• Certification from a recognized trade organization
• Ability to pass a background check
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of electrical systems and components
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local building codes and regulations
• Knowledge of safety protocols
Job Experience
• At least two years of experience as a Residential Electrician
• Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical problems
• Experience in installing and repairing electrical systems
