Overview Residential Care Workers provide care and support to people living in residential care facilities. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents, providing emotional support, and helping them to develop life skills. Detailed Job Description Residential Care Workers are responsible for providing care and support to people living in residential care facilities. This includes providing emotional support, helping with daily activities, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents. They are also responsible for helping residents develop life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal hygiene. Residential Care Workers may also be responsible for administering medication, providing transportation, and helping with recreational activities. Job Skills Required• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Patience and understanding
• Ability to work flexible hours
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in first aid and CPR
• Previous experience working with people with disabilities or in a residential care setting
• Valid driver’s license
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR
• Knowledge of local and state laws and regulations related to residential care
Job Experience
• Previous experience working with people with disabilities or in a residential care setting
• Previous experience providing emotional support and helping with daily activities
• Previous experience administering medication
Job Responsibilities
• Provide emotional support and help with daily activities
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents
