Minimum 5 years of experience required of surveying experience in a Civil construction or engineering environment

Competencies, Experience, Skills & Attributes

Expert knowledge and competency in the safe use of portable nuclear gauges

Working knowledge of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and governing regulations.

Great networking skills, able to work at multiple levels of the organization, from field team members to Senior Leadership.

Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Provide commercial management on Projects and deliver tender margin-plus with effective cost and value management

Supply chain management and payment to ensure programme is maintained and buying opportunities are maximised.

Experienced in leading and developing a diverse team including managing performance and skills development

Manage, develop and mentor junior members of the team

Higher level (HNC or Degree) qualification in Quantity Surveying, ideally Chartered.

At least 5-10 years commercial experience with involvement in infrastructure projects in the construction industry, ideally in Rail.

Minimum 3 years experience in a related position

Purchase and maintain all survey equipment

Work with Autocad and/or Civil 3D

Interpreting plans and construction drawings

Use of total station and GPS on construction sites

Assisting operators with inputting GPS files for equipment grade control

Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.

Must have a minimum of 5 -10 years experience in conducting Marine surveys

A minimum of post secondary education (College diploma or University degree)

Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential

Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.

Strong commercial management and project experience

Minimum 10 years' major infrastructure project experience

Experience of leading teams on major construction projects

Must have a strong interest in working in Canada

Fluent spoken and written French

Degree educated (preferably BSc degree in Quantity Surveying)
