Radiation Protection Specialist Jobs

Competencies, Experience, Skills & Attributes

Expert knowledge and competency in the safe use of portable nuclear gauges

Working knowledge of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and governing regulations.

Great networking skills, able to work at multiple levels of the organization, from field team members to Senior Leadership.

Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Strong knowledge of oncology including indicators, treatment planning, imaging, etc., physiology, disease progression and management of radiation therapy related side effects

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of Radiation Therapy

Current BCLS certification with ongoing re-certification mandatory

Excellent technical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, critical analysis and problem solving skills

Willing to work towards APRT(T) certification with the CAMRT

Qualified Radiation Therapist Registered with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)

Management of personal dosimeters for the workforce.

Support the RP management and site management teams.

Provides coaching, mentoring and guidance to other less experienced RP technicians, and supervises work.

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience required.

Individuals with previous work experience as a Sr. RP technician will be considered.

Experience with a variety of survey instruments for the purposes of field measurements.

Management of personal dosimeters for the workforce.

Management of radon monitors for the workforce.

Support the RP manager and site management teams to develop in field solutions to site specific issues as they arise.

Strong technical writing and reporting skills.

Knowledge of TDG is considered an asset
