Quality Assurance Specialist Manufacturing Jobs in Nova Scotia

Ensures all staff is trained in their respective job functions, including GMP.

Conducts regular inspections of the facility and GMP recordkeeping, including summarization and reporting of findings.

Investigates discrepancies and problems, and advise the appropriate individuals of the findings.

Coordinate or assist with corrective actions and preventative measures.

Writes and revises Standard Operating Procedures as required.

Provides feedback and assistance to Customer/Client QA related questions and concerns.

Internal and/or external auditing experience (focus: Supplier Management)

Oversight and maintenance of additional quality management systems may be assigned as determined by the QA Manager

In the absence of the QA Manager act with full authority and decision-making capacity for all QA decisions if designated

Follows GMP and regulatory requirements and ensures Quality standards are met

3 years of practical experience in a Quality function or in a leadership role within an Operations group

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and train others

Management of defect reports and tracking, communicating to appropriate teams and management

Maintain test plans based on defect tracking and new requirement specifications

Minimum of 12 months experience is required

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) required

Experience with CAN is required

Experience with connected service is preferred.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Works closely with manufacturing team to ensure quality requirements are understood to deliver on customer needs

Works on creating Acceptance Test Reports in accordance with Customer/Engineering requirements

Creates Inspection Plan/Checklists per customer/Engineering requirements and conducts incoming inspection on materials per the checklists

Conducts In-process Checks and Final Inspections by conducting visual and measurement tests for parts as per the ATR requirements

Raise NCRs when products are not meeting requirements and co-ordinate with respective functions for disposition and final closure of NCRs.

Lead proper implementation and oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS) by:

Creating and communicating reports on QA/QC metrics to the management team

Writing, revision and control management of procedures and associated documents

Assist in the management of the external calibration program and laboratory proficiency testing activities

Perform other duties as assigned by management

Report any deviation(s) from documented procedures to the General Manager, Quality

Lab/quality assurance experience and/or experience in a Cannabis LP is an asset

Experience working within Health Canada regulations is ideal

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required

Computer skills including MS Office or G-suite (specifically Word/Docs and Excel/Sheets) is necessary

Problem solving, project management and effective communication skills

Develop and execute procedures and processes to support Quality Management System

Perform other job duties as assigned

3+ years’ experience in a similar position

Knowledge of HACCP and Preventive Control Plan principles

Computer literacy to include knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, SharePoint, Visio and Excel

Must be available to work overtime as requested by management in order to meet business needs.

Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably with ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 certification.

Offer suggestions on improvement of processes and methods.

Post-secondary education, preferably in a technical/science discipline.

Excellent listening skills and razor-sharp attention to detail.
