Overview Operating Room RNs are responsible for providing nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in the operating room. They also provide support to the surgical team and ensure the safety of the patient during the procedure. Detailed Job Description Operating Room RNs are responsible for providing nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in the operating room. They also provide support to the surgical team and ensure the safety of the patient during the procedure. They must be able to assess the patient’s condition and provide appropriate interventions. They must be able to recognize and respond to changes in the patient’s condition and provide appropriate interventions. They must be able to provide patient education and support to the patient and family. They must be able to document the patient’s care accurately and in a timely manner. Job Skills Required Operating Room RNs must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to work effectively as part of a team and be able to collaborate with other healthcare professionals. They must be able to think critically and make decisions quickly. They must be able to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. They must be knowledgeable about the latest medical technology and be able to use it effectively. Job Qualifications Operating Room RNs must have a valid nursing license and be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). They must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the operating room. They must have a strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. They must be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills and be able to work independently. Job Knowledge Operating Room RNs must have a strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. They must be knowledgeable about the latest medical technology and be able to use it effectively. They must be knowledgeable about the different types of surgical procedures and be able to provide appropriate nursing care to the patient. Job Experience Operating Room RNs must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the operating room. They must be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills and be able to work independently.
