Must have a reliable vehicle and own tools fit for projects

Strong written, verbal communication and people management skills;

Preferably a minimum of 1 year experience with materials field testing and inspection or laboratory testing, or applicable academic background;

CCIL certifications for field (concrete) or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt an asset;

Able to work independently in construction and laboratory settings and liaise with local office manager, supervisors, and contractor personnel;

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving experience; and

This position will work 2 weeks on/off on a 12 hour continuous shift rotation

A recent driver's abstract will be required

The designated fly point is from Calgary

Analyzes and administers construction contracts including determining requirements, preparing contracts, determining quantities and co-ordinating and overseeing performance of construction projects.

Manages the application and issuance of Fill and Grading Permits.

Over two (2) years, up to and including four (4) years related experience.

Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians or eligibility to obtain.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.

Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.

Knowledge of fiber optic cable installation procedures and techniques

Directional Drilling & HydroVac experience preferred but not mandatory

Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable

Safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers

Safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, directional bores, excavators, hydrovacs, locators

Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency;

Must have over one (1) year of Construction experience in the areas of inspection, surveying, and/or construction material testing;

Completion of related courses sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Skills Development (Total Station Surveying, AutoCAD) will be considered an asset;
