Advanced mental health psychosocial assessment skills and knowledge of appropriate evidence informed therapeutic counseling models, approaches and interventions

Certificate in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST)

Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of mental health service

Knowledge of recovery principles in the treatment of mental illness

Knowledge and understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders

Knowledge of commonly prescribed psychotropic medications for mental disorders across the age spectrum

Experience in life skill teaching and support to individuals who struggle with mental health issues or other disabilities or conditions.

Two years of related experience with people with mental health issues, or other human service.

Experience in developing, planning and coordinating services.

University or College education in human services, other related disciplines, or high school diploma and related training.

Knowledge of Recovery as it applies to individuals with mental illness.

Knowledge of community support services related to income, housing, employment social integration and self help.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Adult and Adolescent Mental Heath

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification required

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

Skills managing dynamics in a variety of group sessions

Child and Youth Worker diploma/ degree required

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment

Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Knowledgeable and skilled in recovery-oriented practice.

May be required to perform other duties and functions related to this job description not exceeding above stated skills and capabilities.

Minimum of 4 years directly related community mental health experience.

Knowledge and understanding and ability to work within the bio/psycho/social/spiritual model of mental health.

Effective networking, partnership and collaboration skills.

Liaise with third party partners to ensure a seamless case management process with measurable outcomes and metrics.

Experience working in the mental/behavioral health field and knowledge of the mental health system

3-5+ years’ experience in a professional office environment required; hospital, physician practice, or other medical environment preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant policies and legislation surrounding mental health.

Overall expert knowledge of mental health and addiction services.

Knowledge of learning disabilities and the relationship with mental health

Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a MSW in an Ambulatory/ Outpatient Mental Health setting

Excellent communication and organization skills

Knowledge of the principle tenants of CBT and DBT for anxiety and mood disorders

Extensive experience with Family Therapy using attachment and developmental stages theories, apply

Excellent assessment, interviewing and problem solving skills
