Materials Engineering Technologist Jobs

• Prior experience using CAD/3D modelling software (OnShape, Solidworks, Inventor, etc...) to model parts and assemblies

• Knowledge of materials processing/testing/development

• Knowledge of heat and mass transfer concepts

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Must have proven skills with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint/Keynote

• Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills

Interpret and analyze sample results in relation to legislative requirements and industry-accepted guidelines

Manage time of projects effectively and efficiently

Entry level to two years of experience

Hazardous Materials, Indoor Environmental Quality, and OHS industry experience an asset

Related Post-secondary education an asset

Knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation/guidelines

Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Automotive OEM packaging guidelines, processes, and requirements.

Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Experience in Lean and JIT.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and CAD.

Experience in Control Plans, F.M.E.A., A.P.Q.P. and P.F.E.P.

Experience in a metal stamping environment is an asset.

Experience and/ or knowledge of construction sites;

Communication and interpersonal skills, must be able to work effectively and contribute to group relationships;

Strong work ethic and leadership skills;

Knowledge of asphalt pavement, Portland cement concrete and properties of soils would be beneficial;

You will review and understand project specifications and test standards;

Laboratory sample preparation, testing and analysis utilizing experience and technical knowledge

Experience/knowledge of mechanical testing, metallography and/or x-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis is considered a strong asset

Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships

Comfort/experience performing hands on work with tools and industrial equipment (band saws, angle grinders, plasma cutting, etc.).

Valid driver’s license (experience with forklift operation an asset).

General knowledge of metallurgy processes and techniques.
